Aron Katz, Ph.D.

As a psychologist, I work collaboratively with patients to help them clarify their values and goals, taking into account the influence of various identities, experiences, health and ability profiles that color each of our world-views. I strive to create a safe environment to explore what is working well, in addition to areas of struggle, building on one’s strengths to foster growth. I primarily use strengths-based and cognitive therapies, though recognize that each person’s situation may require different approaches. I believe that even simple and modest changes can improve our lives in profound ways, and I help my patients become aware of their potential to achieve the results they want. In doing this, I try to empower them to become aware of tacit processes that influence our lives, to make informed and deliberate decisions to achieve change and promote physical, emotional and relational wellness. My professional education began at Cornell University where I earned my bachelor's in Bio-Psychology. I completed a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Southern California, and continued with a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of Memphis. I completed my APA accredited internship, and Postdoctoral Residency at University of California, Davis Student Health & Counseling Services and have worked as licensed staff at UC Davis and UC Merced before joining Kaiser Permanente in 2019 where I continue to work in Adult Outpatient in the Vacaville office. I am a native Southern Californian, still acclimating to Northern California life. You might find me at Giant's stadium, but always wearing Dodgers blue. I am active at my Synagogue where I was a board member, and am a regular at Little League fields as a coach and parent. In my spare time, I am slowly building my lens collection for my photography habit.
